I bought new tires and noticed a subtle vibration in the steering wheel indicating that they weren't balanced correctly. I went back and told them there was a balance issue and would they please look at the front tires again.

They supposedly rebalanced them and told me I had a bent rim on my front left tire. I asked them why they didn't inform me of that the first time, to which i got a blank stare. Driving home I noticed that they failed to fix the problem and in fact it was worse now. Since they told me I had a bent rim I went to a wheel specialist shop that straightened wheels and asked them to check it out.

They told me the wheel was not bent but that 3 of the 4 tires were not balanced properly. They said it was a terrible job and that the person who did the balancing did not know what they were doing. These folks balanced all 4 tires again and my car was driving perfectly. They charged me $100, which was less than the $125 they would have charged to straighten a wheel.

I believe Town Fair Tire owes me $100 for the work they couldn't complete properly in 2 attempts. HOW ABOUT IT TOWN FAIR TIRE NATICK?

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $100.

Preferred solution: Price reduction.

WOW!! Iโ€™m having the same issue right now!

Glad to know that thereโ€™s others out there that have issues with the same store. Just bought 4 new tires, the same set of tires I had on the car for 3 years. The tech who installed my tires must have been an incompetent idiot. He left stickers on my tires which made an annoying slapping noise, he filled my tires to Over 40psi (had the tires changed in 90 degree weather and checked them cold the next morning at 60 degrees and they were 38-40 psi), and there was an annoying vibration sound.

Thought it was an improper balance and went back 3 times to have them take care of it. Same problem and now I was told that itโ€™s a bent rim and they moved in farther away. I had the same question... why wasnโ€™t I told of this when I got the tire.

I had my car checked out by my mechanic 2 days before getting these new tires for a grinding noise when taking turns (thought I was a wheel bearing). He checked the bearings, wheel for bends/cracks/leaks, shocks, and brakes and found that I needed new rear brakes but he noticed my tires were worn and the passenger front tire was worn a bit unevenly so I needed new tires. Thatโ€™s how I ended up at town fair tire. I was driving with my worn tires and the exact same rims and never had any vibration of any sort.

Now I get new tires and suddenly my rim is bent? If itโ€™s bent, itโ€™s definitely the tech who mounted the tires who bent it. Clearly heโ€™s new or incompetent based on all of the other things he did incorrectly. Iโ€™ll be sure to get reputable tire place to check the wheel and the balance and persue town fair tire for payment accordingly.

Been using town fair for years and years for 4 cars but they might have just lost my business if what I think is going to happen happens when I bring the issue of getting them to pay. Letโ€™s hope management knows how to own up to a mistake and make it right.

OMG!! I was told the same thing about my rim after bringing it back because the steering wheeler shook really bad after 70 mph...I haven't been on the highway yet to test it out. Seeing this I am not so sure my problem has gone away...I looked at the tire that was told something was wrong with it and I see no weights on it...the only one that does't have them.
